ESS Technologies Maestro 2E (ES1978) Driver. I spent a lot of time looking for a Maestro 2E driver for Win2000 only to find out it was the same as the ES1978. I was having problems with a couple of newer games. The sound would become eratic and mostly unrecognizable. This driver cleared it up for me hope you have some luck also.
