I tried many of the ESS sound drivers found posted on windriver.com as well as drivers from compaq before finding the driver page from the manufacturer.
The manufacturer drivers page is VERY complete!

I'm not sure what the diferance between the Windows 95/98
(VXD) and the Windows 98SE
(WDM) drivers but the WDM drivers worked the best for me!
